达赖喇嘛，生日快乐！

深受万人爱戴和敬仰的第14世达赖喇嘛因提倡和平与慈爱，吸引了许多支持者；他的智慧与幽默更激励了芸芸众生。为庆祝他72大寿，新加坡藏佛教界四大法脉和北传佛教的法师代表26人、社会人士（含藏人）共170人，于6月30日在大悲佛教中心进行长寿法会，祈求达赖喇嘛尊者长久住世。这是西藏文化中心第二次为达赖喇嘛进行寿庆，活动也为当地支持者提供交流的机会。

26 venerables and representatives from major Tibetan Buddhist organisations in Singapore as well as 170 members from all walks of life took part in the birthday celebration for HH the 14th Dalai Lama on 30th of June. The event which included a long-life puja for His Holiness and movie screening, was organised by the Tibetan Buddhist Centre, which was set up under the instruction of HH to promote Tibetan culture and uphold the unity, harmony and understanding among Vajrayana Buddhist organisations in Singapore.

西藏精神领袖同意重建藏传比丘尼制度

7月20日共有1200人聚集德国汉堡，聆听达赖喇嘛为首届探讨佛教女性地位的国际会议所做的总结发言。达赖喇嘛宣布他百分之百赞成重建藏传比丘尼制度，并声明那些已经接受法藏部比丘尼传承*的藏传女性修行者，将被视为藏传佛教的一部分。会议过后达赖喇嘛和大会参加者讨论重建藏传比丘尼制度的细节。这包含即将在印度与其他佛教传承进行的研讨会。

Nearly 400 people participated in the Congress on July 18 and 19. A total of 1200 attended to hear the final outcome on Jul 20 during which His Holiness announced full support for the establishment of full ordination for women in the Tibetan tradition. HH made an unequivocal statement that women have already gone into Dharmaguptaka lineage (full ordination lineage for women in Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese Buddhism) for full ordination but who practice within Tibetan Buddhism are accepted as an integral part of Tibetan Buddhism. In a follow-up meeting on Jul 21 with congress participants, HH paved future plans regarding establishment of full ordination for women in the Tibetan tradition. This includes a conference which will take place this winter in India where Tibetan monks will meet with senior members of the other Buddhist monastic orders worldwide to reach broad consensus within monastic cmmunity. 首个佛教电视频道

斯里兰卡为庆祝佛教传入2315周年，首度（可能是全球第一个）成立24小时播放的佛教电视频道。该频道于6月29日开播，由斯里兰卡总统 (图：左起第一位) 主持开播仪式，成立目的在促进各宗教对话。目前以僧伽罗语、英语播出，不久将加入淡米尔语、法语等国际语文的服务。
