首届探讨佛教女性地位的国际会议

7月份在汉堡大学举行的首届探讨佛教女性地位的国际会议，将邀请150位精通佛教律藏史的专家来探讨，如何重建藏传比丘尼制度。会议的发起人第十四世达赖喇嘛，已确定出席，为会议提供洞见。集合了佛教三大传统的会议，将会对整个比丘尼制度的重建，做出一致结论。发表论文的有惠敏法师和香光尼僧团的悟因法师。

The question of re-introducing higher ordination for Tibetan Buddhist women has long been of great personal interest to the Fourteen Dalai Lama and the First International Congress on Buddhist Women has been organized at his personal request. To be attended by 150 expert researchers in the fields of Buddhist studies specializing in monastic discipline and history, it aims to elicit a statement from the Dalai Lama on how the Bhikshuni lineage will be established in the Tibetan tradition as well as a worldwide consensus on the re-establishment of the Bhikshuni-ordination. 顶尖佛教课程瞄准藏传佛教

加州大学洛杉矶分校是西方国家中，佛学系最大，佛教科目报名率最多的学校。它拥有非常丰富的藏传佛教经典，唯缺藏传佛学课程。这次大学为配合藏传佛学院的设立，特地邀请仁波切来进行一系列活动，包括电影欣赏和西藏诗歌朗诵。

A series of events was held to create a UCLA chair in Tibetan Buddhist Studies at UCLA, including speech by Khen Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan, film screening about Tibetan monk Gendun Choepel and a recitation of Gendun's poetry. UCLA has the largest faculty for Buddhist studies in the Western world, the largest U.S. enrolment in courses on Buddhism and an impressive classical Tibetan-language library collection. 2007年联合国卫塞节国际佛教会议

为庆祝卫塞节，泰国僧伽大学于5月底在泰国曼谷联合国会议中心和佛统府大佛城两地，举行2007年卫塞节国际佛教会议，探讨通过科技推广佛教以及保留佛教修持传统的课题。与会代表也将出席泰王八十高寿的庆祝大会。

Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University is organising an International Buddhist Conference from 26th to 31th May to celebrate this year抯 Visakha Day at Buddhamonthon as well as at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. In addition to discussions on the application of technology to help promote Buddhism and ways to help preserve Buddhist practices, the participants would also celebrate the 80th birthday of His Majesty the King.
